Lying for a Progressive Cause is Moral, Lying for a Conservative Cause is Immoral

Liberals habitually accuse conservatives and Republicans of lying and misinforming the public. And they do it with the unshakable confidence that they themselves have no record of lying to the public in furtherance of their own agenda.¹

Here’s the latest left-wing lie:

“I think we ought to go back to the people and the party that was the only party and the only people to balance the budget in 40 years. I hate to break it to my Republican friends, but that is the Democratic Party. We are the ones who did it. We did it when Bill Clinton came into office. We did it after hard work. We did it after painful cuts. We did it with smart investments.”

That was Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) on June 29, 2011, and she just got 3 Pinocchios from Fact Checker for it.

Connie Schultz, are you paying attention?

Footnotes:

¹  The left has actually codified the use of the lie as a means for advancing their progressive agenda. See Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals, the Torah of the left. But because they are comprised of true believers who know they are on the morally right side of the issues, they believe the ends justify the means. In other words, the reason they feign outrage at conservative falsehoods is not because lying in furtherance of one’s agenda offends their sensibilities, but rather, because those falsehoods are told in furtherance of an agenda with which they disagree.
